It is impossible to cover every issue, local and national.  The subject matter at this stage concentrates mainly on constituency issues. That is obviously not to downplay the importance of other national and international issues. (Go to Issues List)

I am always ready to try and help constituents who contact me, though that is not always possible.  I have estimated that I have dealt with over 23,000 requests for individual help, inquiries and community issues over the last eight years.

This constituency covers a large area, with a population of around 80,000 people.  It is not possible to meet everyone, or to know absolutely everything that is happening (though I try!). 

There are, of course, 18 City Councillors also representing the various wards (or parts of wards) within this constituency.  They are elected to deal with Council related matters.  But experience has shown that many local people still like to contact their MP about issues relating to planning, highways, housing and other Council responsibilities.  I am always ready to try and help.

These pages provide some reflection of the work I do with local people, the things we have achieved, and the challenges that remain.  I hope you find it both interesting and helpful.
