•Home Zone at Rawdon Littlemoor

Farsley Town
Street/Calverley Lane
and Richardshaw Lane

•crossings installed on the A65 at Horsforth and Rawdon, on Bradford Road, Guiseley, and Lowtown, Pudsey;

•crossings planned for this year at Church Avenue, Horsforth, Ings
Lane/Otley Road, Guiseley, Richardshaw Lane, Pudsey and Green Lane and Harrogate Road, Rawdon

•supporting local people in the campaign for safety measures on
Rawdon Town Street.

•speed controls at schools and hazardous locations such as Carr Lane, Calverley, Waterloo Road, Pudsey, and
Town Street, Rodley

One Stop Shops

As a Councillor, and Chair of the Community Benefits and Rights Committee, I secured funding for the One Stop Centres at Micklefield House and Pudsey Town Hall.

Both have proved to be a tremendous success in making Council services more accessible to local people.

Sport

I have campaigned strongly for local sport.   I know how important the work local clubs do here in Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough is, not least in giving our young people access to constructive activities and a healthy lifestyle.

I have provided strong backing for the applications by Priesthorpe and St Mary's High Schools to become sports colleges.  This has been a massive success.  All the primary and high schools in this constituency are benefiting.

I was delighted our campaign to secure the equivalent of charitable status for community sports clubs was successful.  As a result, many local sports clubs will be granted exemption by the Government from paying 80 per cent of local authority rates.

Clubs wishing to take advantage of scheme can write to me for advice or they can contact the Inland Revenue directly to apply to register as Community Amateur Sports Clubs – details and the simple one page application form are available on the Inland Revenue website at:
